Numerical Simulations of Three-Phase Flows in Microchannels

The Volume of Fluid (VOF) Simulations for Three Phase Gas-Liquid-Liquid Flows in Microchannels

Numerical simulations were performed to predict the three-phase (Gas-Liquid-Liquid) flow regimes, formation dynamics of bubbles/drops/slugs and their corresponding lengths. The numerical predictions were verified with the experimental results. Predicted results showed that the formation dynamics of bubbles/drops or slugs are in a quantitative agreement with the experimental images and the bubble/drop or slugs length measurements.
